Klein, M. (2026). Modelling the fate of veterinary compounds in groundwater and surface water using the FOCUS models. German Environment Agency. https://doi.org/10.60810/openumwelt-8324
Zusammenfassung englisch
In environmental risk assessments for veterinary medicines, FOCUS models are applied to calculate the concentration in groundwater and surface water. The report suggests harmonised input parameters applicable to veterinary medicines and aids in the analysis of results. It also contains a manual for performing FOCUS simulations. The manual is complemented by a presentation on the use of FOCUS models for veterinary medicines. The project results have supported the development of a list of parameters by EMA (see Q 19, Questions and answers on Implementation of CVMP Guideline on environmental impact assessment for veterinary medicinal products in support of the VICH Guidelines GL6 (Phase I) and GL38 (Phase II)).
