Reducing environmental exposure to biocides through drift during application
    (German Environment Agency, 2025)
From an environmental point of view, drift of biocidal products to non-target areas should be minimised as far as possible to reduce environmental exposure. Two research projects were commissioned by UBA to elaborate on possibilities to reduce drift to non-target areas during outdoor applications of biocidal products and to derive drift values for the exposure assessment of biocidal applications. This factsheet compiles the conclusions of UBA based on the work of the contractors. It proposes changes in environmental exposure assessment, product authorisations, public procurement and biocides legislation to enhance environmental protection.

    Corporate environmental reporting
    (German Environment Agency, 2024)
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) will require large companies to create transparency about their environmental and social impacts, including those in the supply chain. New laws on corporate supply chain due diligence, such as the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) or the planned European Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), oblige companies to address environmental damage and human rights violations in their supply chains and report on the outcome. In the context of the current debate on easing reporting burdens for companies, this factsheet examines the compatibility of the environmental reporting requirements from the CSRD with those of selected due diligence laws to identify synergies and gaps.
