dc.description.abstractThe publication explores the climate mitigation potential of Blue Carbon ecosystems (BCEs) like mangroves, seagrasses, and tidal marshes. It investigates how to protect and enhance these natural carbon sinks through improved financing, accounting, and reporting mechanisms. At its core, challenges and opportunities for integrating BCEs into climate strategies, particularly in terms of carbon sequestration and safeguarding marine carbon stocks, are examined by this report. Aimed at policymakers, researchers, and environmental organizations, the research provides insights on developing effective Blue Carbon measures and incentives for their protection in the context of international climate policy.en
