Zusammenfassung englisch
Article 29 of Directive 2008/98/EC requires that Member States adopt waste prevention programmes (WPP). The German Federal Government first adopted the programme in July 2013 under the title "Abfallvermeidungsprogramm des Bundes unter Beteiligung der Länder"("Waste Prevention Programme of the German Government with the Involvement of the Federal States"). The German WPP is to be evaluated every 6 years and updated as required in Section 33 of the German Circular Economy Act. Under the circumstances of the upcoming review of the WPP due by 2019, the current status of the implementation of the WPP was to be determined and evaluated during this project. Other aspects not previously addressed in the WPP were also to be examined to see whether they contribute to waste prevention. Specific proposals to possibly develop and update the programme were elaborated based on the results of the analysis of the current status of the implementation of the WPP at the federal, state and municipal levels and an evaluation of existing prevention potentials. Specific proposals for measures concerning previously prioritised waste streams and relevant priority prevention approaches were developed to facilitate this. Quelle: Forschungsbericht
