Durch Solar Radiation Modification (SRM) kann weder das bisherige Klima konserviert, noch das vorindustrielle Klima wiederhergestellt werden. Es würde ein unvorhersagbares, neues Klima mit erheblichen regionalen Auswirkungen entstehen. In dieser Broschüre werden die Risiken von SRM für Ernährungssicherheit, Gerechtigkeit und echten Klimaschutz erläutert. Die verschiedenen Ansätze und deren Wirkweise werden erklärt. Zudem wird die rechtliche Ausgangslage beschrieben und Bedingungen für eine verantwortliche Governance, einschließlich eines Nicht-Nutzungs-Abkommens, formuliert.

Solar Radiation Modification (SRM) can neither conserve the current nor restore the pre-industrial climate. It would create an unpredictable new global climate with significant regional impacts. This brochure explains the risks of SRM for food security, justice and actual climate action. It explains the various SRM approaches and how they are supposed to work. It also describes the state of regulation and formulates conditions for responsible governance, including a non-use agreement.

The functions of eco-certifications and labels in sustainable and green hospitality

The first sustainability certifications emerged in the 1970s, and since then, their number has grown considerably across the global tourism sector. As the number of certifications has increased, so too has research on their role and impact. This paper examines the function of sustainability certification in tourism, particularly in the hotel and accommodation sector. Drawing on a systematic literature review, the study qualitatively evaluates 86 relevant studies published from 2017 to 2023. The analysis identifies four key functions of sustainability certifications for hotels: (1) guidance and regulatory function, (2) status and identification function, (3) benefit and profit function, and (4) knowledge and progress function. © 2026 the author(s),
