Abstract

In order to decrease the amount of biodegradable waste being landfilled and to increase material recycling, Bulgaria intends to extend its composting and digesting activities. Establishing a quality assurance system for compost and digestate is expected to support this initiative. This brochure provides information on the legal framework related to bio-waste in Bulgaria, but also in the EU and in Germany, as well as information on Germany’s quality assurance system for compost and digestate, in order to give orientation and share experiences. It is available in Bulgarian only, but the brochure “Quality assurance of compost and digestate. Experiences from Germany“ is available in English.
