The aim of the EU waste policy is the promotion of the circular economy in order to conserve resources on the one side and to protect human health and the environment on the other side. Before the decision about appropriate treatment options of waste can be made the correct characterisation of waste is necessary. This brochure provides guidance on classification, sampling and analysis of waste.
