Alternativen zum Biozid-Einsatz

Abstract

Das Umweltbundesamt (UBA) betreibt seit 2010 ein web-basiertes Informationsportal zu Alternativen zum Biozid-Einsatz (Biozid-Portal, http://www.biozid.info). Das Ziel der Internetseite ist die Bereitstellung von umfassenden Informationen zu vorbeugenden und alternativen Maßnahmen in den Bereichen, wo Biozide verwendet werden. Biozide werden vor allem zu Desinfektionszwecken, zum Materialschutz und zur Schädlingsbekämpfung eingesetzt. Das Portal informiert über die wichtigsten Einsatzbereiche von Bioziden. Es bietet den Nutzerinnen und Nutzern praktische Tipps und Hilfestellungen für die Identifizierung und die Kontrolle von Schädlingen an. Außerdem werden Hintergrundinformationen zu Biozid-Produkten und dem Zulassungsverfahren nach Biozidverordnung (EU) Nr. 528/2012 sowie verwandten Themen bereitgestellt. Das Portal soll die Bewusstseinbildung der breiten Öffentlichkeit über mögliche Risiken im Umgang mit Bioziden fördern und Möglichkeiten zur Minimierung des Biozideinsatzes aufzeigen. Damit wird die Forderung nach § 12e) des Chemikaliengesetzes unterstützt, nach der die Öffentlichkeit über "physikalische, biologische, chemische und sonstige Maßnahmen als Alternative zum Einsatz von Biozid-Produkten oder als Möglichkeit, den Einsatz von Biozid-Produkten zu minimieren" zu unterrichten ist. Die Informationsplattform basiert auf einem "open source" Content-Management-System. Das Informationsangebot wird inhaltlich kontinuierlich ausgebaut und weiterentwickelt. Mit Beginn 2015 wurde die Internetseite einem Relaunch unterzogen und erscheint jetzt in einem neuen Gewand, das das sogenannte "Responsive Design" unterstützt. The German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) operates a web-based information portal for alternatives to biocide use which is publicly available under http://www.biozid.info for 5 years now - since July 2010. The objective of the website is to provide detailed information mainly for private users on preventive and integrated control measures in areas where biocides are used. Guidance on the identification and control of pests is provided next to practical advice for distinct cases. The main areas of use, disinfection, material protection and pest control are covered. Furthermore, background information on biocides and the authorisation procedures under Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 for biocidal products and related topics is given. The portal shall contribute to the awareness rising in the public for risks of biocides and the possibility to minimize their use. This is supported by the German Chemical Law which demands that "information on the physical, biological, and chemical and other measures as alternatives or for minimizing the use of biocidal products have to be available to the publicŁ. The technical realisation is based on an open source content management system. The content of the portal will be updated and is intended to cover more types of uses of biocidal products, continuously. Since the beginning of 2015 the portal was re-launched with a fresh look and supports a responsive design. Hence, the portal is now also available for smartphones and tablets with small screens.
