Abstract english
The generation of energy by wind turbines is essential for the implementation of the energy transition. Especially in Germany, the number of wind turbine installations has continuously increased over the last years. Within this framework, the protection of the population from wind turbine noise has to be taken into consideration. Although numerous activities for noise reduction have been carried out or are ongoing, there are still a number of open questions. Especially low-frequency noise and infrasound are focussed on in public discussion. This discussion is not only conducted in conjunction with wind turbines, but also in context with various other noise sources such as railway traffic or industrial facilities. On behalf on the German Environment Agency a research project titled "Noise Effects of Infrasound Exposure" is currently carried out. It is a laboratory test that investigates the acute human reactions to infrasound in different compositions. In addition to physiological measurements, extensive psychological surveys are also involved. The study on the effects of infrasound exposure on humans will be presented. Website © 2019 Ingenta
